What is Mindfulness ?

Mindfulness is with intention re-driecting your mind to paying attention to the present moment on purpose, non-judgementally.

This is easier said than done, because we are distracted by so many things, the mind seems to be constantly analysing the past or planning the future.  Organising, planning or working out what we need to do next as opposed to actually noticing what is going on right now for you and enjoying the richness of life in the moment.

There are many scientific reports which confirm that Mindfulness actually changes the neuroplasticity (structure) of our brains in a positive way.  Here's a 3 minute video which demonstrates this.

Mindfulness is a life skill that can be taught to children and adults alike and no meditation experience is required, only a commitment to practice.

There are so many benefits to learning Mindfulness that help you in your day to day life and your relationships that its not just you will be helping but all those whom you come into contact with too.

I joined the course because I am very susceptible to stress, and spiralling thoughts which stop me sleeping and lead to me being unwell. I found the course enjoyable, interesting and very relaxing, Amanda teaches from the heart so it is easy to learn concepts that can be challenging! I have found that meditating is an investment, it gives me back more time than it takes - it is also a pleasure - so win, win! Through Amanda’s teaching, I have learned to ignore the thoughts, so they don’t spiral, they just float away - this is a major breakthrough for me, and a great relief. I have also learned to hold on to happy moments which is lovely. I can’t recommend this Mindfulness for Stress course highly enough.

If like me you have a really busy working and family life and have a mind that doesn’t sit still, you may find that Mindfulness for Stress will benefit you and help you find some peace.

You will have to do at least half an hour of meditation practice every day and also try and weave in some practical exercises to help become more mindful. If you give it time it should help you slow down in this busy world.
